Symmetry Your Behind-The-Scenes Partner

When we say we'll handle it

Follow-through is the whole job. How the Symmetry team thinks about time, commitment and dedication - and why "we'll handle it" is a promise we build our days around.

The most important sentence we say to a client is a short one: “We’ll handle it.”

It gets said about a callback, a stack of faxes, a patient waiting on paperwork, a vendor who needs chasing, a schedule that has to move. Every time, it means the same thing. You can stop thinking about it now. It is ours.

That sentence only means something if it is true every time. So this is about how we keep it true.

When we say we’ll handle it, we do

A client who hands us a task is not handing us a suggestion. They are taking something off their own list and trusting that it will not quietly reappear there a week later, unfinished and now urgent.

So we do not take things on loosely. Everything we agree to do becomes a piece of work with an owner on our side and a time it is due. Not a mental note, not a line in a chat thread someone might scroll past. If it was said to us, it is written down where the whole team can see it, and it stays there until a person on our team has finished it.

That is the difference between “we’ll look into it” and “we’ll handle it”. We only say the second one, and we mean it.

When we say when, we mean when

“Soon” is not a commitment. It cannot be kept and it cannot be missed, so it can only disappoint.

We give a time. “By end of day.” “Before your Thursday clinic.” “First thing Monday.” Then we hold ourselves to it. Every open item on our side carries its age, so we can see what is oldest and what is about to miss the window we promised - before the client has to notice it.

And when something cannot happen when we said, the client hears it from us, early, with the new time. Nobody should have to chase us to learn we are running late.

We close the loop, even when the answer is no

Silence reads as forgotten. A client who asked a question and heard nothing assumes nobody is working on it, and usually they are right to.

So we report back. Done, and here is what happened. Not done yet, and here is when. Checked, and the answer is no - here is what we can do instead. A no delivered on time is still follow-through. A yes that arrives three days late, unannounced, is not.

A task is not finished when we have done our part. It is finished when the client has what they needed.

Our time is spent on yours

Time management, for us, is not about protecting our calendar. Your work does not arrive on our schedule. It arrives as a voicemail at 4:55, a fax on Monday morning, a form submitted on a Saturday.

So we keep everything that comes in - email, phones, faxes, forms, chat - in one place, in order, with an owner. The question we ask every day is not “what did we plan to do?” but “what do we owe, and to whom?” That list decides the day.

Dedication means it does not depend on one person

It is easy to be dedicated when everything goes well. The test is the sick day, the holiday, the week when one of us is out.

Our follow-through does not live in anyone’s head. If one of us told you on Tuesday that we would call the payer back, the rest of the team knows it, because it is on the record, not in a memory. Whoever is on shift picks it up. You never have to explain twice or wonder who is covering.

We also count only work a person on our team actually did. A message a system filed away is not a client served. A callback one of us made is. That keeps us honest with ourselves, and keeps the numbers we show you honest too.

What this means for you

You get a short report every day: what came in, what we finished, what is still open and when it will be done. You do not have to ask where things stand. You do not have to remember what you handed us.

That is the job. Not the tools, not the dashboards - those are just how we keep score. The job is that when we say we will handle it, we do. When we say when, it happens then. And when something changes, you hear it from us first.
